Gomoku, also known as Five in a Row, is a strategic board game traditionally using Go pieces on a 15×15 or 19×19 board, though it can also be played as a pencil-and-paper recreation. Known by diverse names worldwide, it's an abstract game that leaves pieces untouched on the board.
Black initiates the exchange by placing a stone of his color at an empty junction. The victor is the first player to forge a continuous row of five stones of his hue, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
